Art Therapy for Children & TEENS

Using creative exploration to nurture resiliency, confidence and self-expression.

Supporting Children & young people through creativity

When children are struggling it can be challenging to find a way to effectively support them.

Art therapy aims to provide children an outlet by offering a comforting environment for self-exploration where they can creatively process and express feelings about their experiences, thoughts and emotions. The process of voicing stories through art-making can be immensely empowering, transformative, and healing. It supports confidence, resiliency and positive connection by offering a non-judgmental space to visually and narratively explore.

Art therapy is a great fit for children because their most familiar and natural form of communication is play. However no artistic experience or talent is needed to enjoy the benefits of the creative process.

Children are supported in building effective coping skills that can be added to their ‘personal toolbox’. The toolbox is an excellent resource for self-care and a powerful metaphor that addresses the needs of the individual as they soothe and empower themselves.

Sessions are typically 45 minutes to 1 hour in length and are tailored to address the unique stories, needs and creativity of each child.
